A stroll through the resort uncovers a collection of the finest materials unearthed from around the world to construct the distinctive setting, honoring the indelible architecture of Addison Mizner – the only design of its kind on the West Coast. Highlights include: more than 30 types of imported stone, from polished Italian marble columns to Jerusalem limestone; cubic stone carved by a family of four generations in a small town south of Venice, Italy; over 35 wood finishes used on 16 different wood species from across the globe; wrought-iron accents punctuated by 24-karat gold leafing; Roman pan tile roofing; Venetian plastered walls and vibrant Portuguese-style glazed tile.

Each of the 249 lavishly appointed guestrooms, including 31 expansive suites highlighted by a pair of 2,840-square-foot Presidential Suites, features a marble bathroom with deep European-style soaking tub, dual sinks, a separate shower, and 13-inch LCD television; plush feather-top beds with Italian linens and 100% goose down pillows; and commanding views of the golf course or the serene nature preserve.

Decorated in an elegant, yet inviting turn-of-the-century style with dark wood furnishings, crown moldings, stylish fixtures, and a jewel-toned color scheme, rooms also offer modern comforts: 40-inch LCD television, iPod docking station, complimentary wireless and wired high-speed Internet access, three dual-line phones (one cordless), in-room safe large enough to hold laptop computers, 24-hour in-room dining, an honor bar with wet bar area, and complimentary bottled water.

The resort features in excess of 20,000 square feet of meeting and event space to accommodate a full range of events – from intimate board meetings or incentive trips to product launches and national sales meetings – for groups of up to 600 guests. Indoor highlights include the Elizabeth Ballroom – a 10,000-square-foot setting featuring six divisible sections, automobile access, a built-in stage, ceiling heights from 18 to 19 feet, and spacious wrap-around foyers, as well as warm woods, imported stone, and rich color accents of champagne and burgundy; the Manchester Salon and Terrace –  a 2,500-square-foot salon with an inviting ambiance enhanced by detailed woodwork and stenciled ceilings, as well as two stone fireplaces both indoors and out on the commanding, 1,910-square-foot terrace; the Elizabeth Capella – a truly unique event option set in the resort’s magnificent 3,430-square-foot private chapel; and three wine-inspired rooms, featuring encased wine bottles, wood-beamed ceilings, brick accents and a sophisticated ambiance, range from 575 to 750 square feet or can be combined to 1,925 square feet.

Diverse bunkering and rolling greens wind through the stunning natural playground close enough to the Pacific Ocean to capture cool ocean breezes and washed in the year-round Southern California glow.
