ACTIVITIES

Since 1929, visitors have been drawn to the Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa for its endless sunshine and nearly limitless selection of activities. From Arizona's only 54-hole destination golf resort, to tennis on one of our nine illuminated courts or just relaxing and staying cool in one of our two sparkling pools, a Wigwam vacation can be as relaxed or active as you desire. Add to these options a getaway day tour to Sedona or the Grand Canyon, or luxury spa services, and chances are, you'll never want to leave.

Golf at the Wigwam is truly a classic experience. This Arizona treasure was established in the 1930s, a time when golf courses were not built through dense housing developments, and certainly not with tight, target fairways. At the Wigwam, the golf courses have remained a top priority over the years. Canals, streams and lakes cascade through the journey. The shadows cast on greens and bunkers are from majestic parkland trees, not multi-story resort buildings. Wigwam’s three 18-hole championship courses offer a diversity that cannot be matched by any other Arizona resort – including two courses designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones, Sr.

Entering through the vibrant red doors of the Red Door Spa awakens your senses immediately. Soothing aromatic fragrances fill the air, while bold artwork complements the plush interior design of leather sofas, Southwestern-style armoires and slate floors. An expert staff specializes in personal attentive service utilizing natural ingredients from the earth and sea. The latest in luxurious skincare and body treatments nurtures the mind, body and spirit. The clean, modern design of the Red Door Spa provides a sophisticated flair to all of the service and treatment areas, relaxation rooms and locker rooms that span more than 16,000 sq. ft. The full-service spa boasts five private facial rooms, six massage rooms, four sate-of-the-art deluxe wet rooms, four hair stations, four manicure and five pedicure stations. The Wigwam also has a full-service Fitness Center with an air-conditioned studio for fitness classes.

Since 1929 visitors have been drawn to the Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa for its endless sunshine and nearly limitless selection of activities. Looking to strengthen the working relationship of your attendees? The Wigwam’s activities and recreation team will plan and organize fun teambuilding events. Specialties include casual outdoor activities unique to the Sonoran Desert to competitive games. We can also help you create a theme for your conference that will center around productivity and help focus on your group’s goals while creating lasting memories.

The Sonoran Desert is one of the largest and hottest deserts in North America and contains a variety of unique plants and animals – over 60 mammal species, 350 bird species, and more than 2,000 native plant species. The Sonoran is the only place in the world where the famous saguaro cactus grows in the wild. Many plants not only survive the harsh conditions of the Sonoran Desert, but they actually thrive. Many have evolved to have specialized adaptations to the desert climate.

No matter when you visit Arizona, you’ll find plenty of things to see and do. With more than 330 days of annual sunshine, you can count on exceptional weather as you experience the rich diversity of our desert year-round. Choose from a wide range of tours and sightseeing excursions, whether by Jeep or hot-air balloon or horseback. Of course, golf remains the most popular outdoor activity and you will have your choice of 54 holes directly at the Wigwam Golf Club.
