On May 10, District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser announced the city is reopening for business beginning May 21. The reopening plan includes lifting restrictions on public and commercial activity, including capacity limits and time restrictions on business meetings, seated conventions, and many public spaces.
As of May 21, there will no longer be capacity limits on business meetings and seated conventions.
Bars, nightclubs and large sports/entertainment venues will remain under capacity limits until fully reopening on June 11. From May 21 to June 11, bars and night clubs may operate at 50% capacity, and large venues will continue with the waiver process to host large crowds.
This news for D.C. comes on the heels of a prior announcement on May 1 of easing restrictions to just 25% capacity or 250 people.
