SEE
Hassan II Mosque
On the oceanfront, and indeed built over the ocean, is Hassan II Mosque, considered one of the biggest and most beautiful mosques in the Muslim world. Inside, find exquisite examples of embellished woods, marble and onyx, with pillars and ceilings adorned with symmetrical arabesques and zelliges or glazed tile mosaics.
Quartier Habous
Casablanca’s newest medina, Quartier Habous is said to be one of Morocco’s most picturesque. Located near the royal palace, the souk, or bazaar/market, is filled with narrow streets through which you can wander and discover all types of artisans making everything from clothes to leather goods, jewelry, ceramics, spices and more.
Morocco
Built in the 12th century, the Sacred Heart Cathedral, also known as Casablanca Cathedral, reflects neo-Gothic style with Moroccan Art Deco and Muslim influences; the windows at the top are similar to those found in a mosque. A tour to the top of the cathedral reveals bird’s eye views of Casablanca and the Atlantic Ocean.
