Set on a peninsula and designed with three wings of guestrooms, every room and suite at Turtle Bay Resort offers guests stunning ocean views. All of the 450 rooms were designed with the intention of bringing the outside in, incorporating natural materials such as weathered teak, natural concrete stone, and rattan. Additionally, Turtle Bay sourced furnishings made of materials indigenous to Hawaii, including monkeypod tree tables handcrafted by artisans located on the North Shore. These design choices further establish the resort’s overarching ethos; Aloha Aina, a love of and nurturing care for the ancient land.

These transformed living and meeting spaces were expertly designed by Los Angeles-based interior designer, Dianna Wong. Wong’s design process was guided by a deep respect and gratitude for the land, Hawaii’s natural beauty and the ever-embracing spirit of Aloha and adventure for which the island is best known. Boasting custom wallpaper featuring one of North Shore’s many cyan-colored waves, and furniture inspired by the ’70s design, the updated spaces pay homage to Turtle Bay’s status as an icon of the North Shore since its opening in 1972.

“The Turtle Bay experience is centered around connecting with nature and taking advantage of the beauty of Oahu’s North Shore,” says Wong. “When beginning the design process, I knew I wanted to incorporate the essence of Hawaii’s natural beauty, and bring that energy into the guest rooms. I wanted the new guest rooms to be immersive, further immersing guests within nature.”

Wong carried this aesthetic through to all of the meeting and event spaces as well, providing the perfect backdrop for business meetings, incentive programs, social events, board retreats and weddings. The newly reimagined meeting rooms, ballrooms and Kuilima Foyer have been transformed with the design elements flowing in from the rest of the resort, influenced by the colors and nature of the North Shore landscape. The Kuilima Ballroom and Foyer are filled with floor-to-ceiling windows capturing an abundance of natural light and stunning ocean views.

Turtle Bay Resort is the only full-service resort on the North Shore and every aspect of the property has been reinvented. In addition to the new design elements, all of the spaces have been outfitted with state-of-the-art audio/ visual and video conferencing capabilities, lighting and dimming systems, high-tech signage and more. Taking its cues from nature, the new light-filled lobby has had walls replaced with windows to create awe-inspiring views of the seemingly endless stretches of beaches, surf and sky in all directions. Beyond the lobby, infinity-style water features lead guests to a terraced pool deck with a new adults-only pool, redesigned family-friendly pool, poolside cabanas, and front-row views of the crashing waves and surfers just beyond.
