Immerse yourself in 1,000 years of tradition at Taos Pueblo, a living Native American community of about 150 people who reside in adobe buildings that have been continuously inhabited for more than 1,000 years. Take a guided tour to learn about the people, history and architecture of Taos Pueblo, the only living Native American community designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and National Historic Landmark.

Get a different perspective of an Albuquerquean sunset with a ride on the Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway. Soar 2.7 miles in 15 minutes to the crest of the Sandia Mountains for stunning 11,000 square mile panoramic views of the city, and indeed the region, below. Make the most of the ride with a reception, lunch or dinner at Ten3, a fine and casual dining restaurant 10,300 feet above sea level. 

 
 

The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum

Considered one of the most significant artists of the 20th century, Georgia O’Keeffe, grew up in Wisconsin and lived in Chicago, New York City and West Texas before settling in New Mexico after spending months at a time in the Land of Enchantment for 20 years. The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe houses nearly 150 paintings; hundreds of pencil and charcoal drawings, and pastels and watercolors on paper; and the artist’s personal effects.

Albuquerque is the international ballooning capital of the world, and for good reason: each fall, upwards of 600 hot air balloons fill the sky during the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Serving dinner Monday through Saturday, Market Steer’s menu ranges from prime steaks with plenty of delicious sides from which to choose, to fresh seafood, filling salads and tempting appetizers. For a different kind of sip, try the restaurant’s signature cocktail, the Grand Champion, a twist on an old-fashioned with Wagyu washed bourbon.

When you arrive at Duran's Central Pharmacy, don’t be dismayed to find an actual working pharmacy. Instead, walk to the back to the New Mexican diner that’s been serving delectable dishes to Albuquerqueans since the late-1960s. In addition to the diner’s authentic red and green chile, try the diner’s made-from-scratch tamales, enchiladas and burritos – order a combo plate to try it all.

Everything you’ll find on the menu at Lambert’s of Taos, from breads to pasta to ice cream, is made from scratch. As far as the meats and produce, the culinary team sources locally to ensure the freshest ingredients. To that end, Lambert’s dinner menu changes often to showcase seasonal flavors found throughout the Southwest; a vegetarian menu is available upon request.
