Strategic Advisory Group: Dr. Lalia Rach

Dr. Lalia Rach is a renowned industry leader, best known for her career in higher education as the founding Dean of the Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Management at New York University. Her success as a consultant, keynote speaker and moderator is directly connected to her relatable honesty and practical, thoughtful information.

She specializes in assisting executives in advancing their leadership strategies and building effective and efficient teams. She believes leaders must advance their thinking, move beyond their comfort zone and fully engage their teams in a consistent and purposeful manner.

At New York University, she created one of the most innovative graduate and undergraduate programs for hospitality, sports, and tourism. In her 18-year tenure as divisional dean and endowed professor at the NYU Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Management, she was responsible for the development of new curriculum including the first graduate concentration in hospitality revenue management and for increasing the stature and attendance at the industry’s premier conference, the NYU Hospitality Investment and Development Conference, where for more than a decade she opened the event by interviewing CEOs from the global hotel industry.

A multi-faceted professional, she managed her own consulting business, Rach Enterprises, for more than a quarter century advising clients at companies including MGM Resorts International, BWH Hotel Group, Visit Dallas, SCCMPI and Red Roof Inn. Her success as a consultant is directly attributed to what she calls an "uncommon sense" approach to deliver genuine ideas that challenge tradition.

She is the author of “Managing the Book on You: Rewriting Your Leadership Story.”  Buy now.

"Dr. Lalia Rach was a hit with our audience of association executives. She shared new ideas and approaces to problem-solving that were insightful and unique. She spent considerable time in advance of the meeting getting to know our members' challenges and concerns to design a customized program that spoke directly to their needs. Her combination of presentation and dialogue proved a winning combination. She commands a room better than anyone I have seen recently - she OWNED the room. Our evaluations were superb - as a matter of fact, many responses indicated tha ther presentation was the highlight of the meeting. "
